How to Sponsor an AuthorizeMe® Seminar
Would you be interested in sponsoring an AuthorizeMe® seminar in your area? AuthorizeMe® is happy to come to you.
To sponsor a seminar, you would be responsible for securing a location and helping with advertising. AuthorizeMe® will supply you with flyers and postcards, and will publicize your area's seminar on the company website and to the company’s e-mail list. You only need a minimum of 10 paid attendees for a full seminar.
With a full seminar:
If there are less than ten paid attendees:
Let’s Get Started:
Step One: Contact AuthorizeMe to secure a date
Step Two: Secure a location
This is generally a church or school multi-purpose room with lots of empty wall space and/or windows. The room would need to be available Friday evening, 4pm - 10pm, and all day Saturday, 8am - 7pm. If the seminar is held at a church and the sponsor is a member of the church, the room is usually supplied at no charge, especially if the seminar can be promoted as a church-related event.
Hotel meeting rooms are also ideal for AuthorizeMe seminars. Discuss the meeting room cost in advance with AuthorizeMe personnel.
As soon as an exact address is secured, forward it to the AuthorizeMe office so the address can be published on the website and on flyers.
Step Three: Start promoting the event
AuthorizeMe will supply you with flyers and/or postcards and a Power Point presentation download you can use to advertise the seminar. Feel free to assemble a team of volunteers to help.
Step Four: Arrange for lunch on Saturday
This does not mean you have to supply it. Just have eating establishments (fast food places) in mind that are close to the seminar site. There will be a one-hour lunch break on Saturday and attendees will need to leave the site to get their lunch. (If there is a kitchen and a cook or a caterer at the location, we can discuss adding the Saturday lunch to the seminar price.)
Step Five: Act as liaison with AuthorizeMe® staff
Let AuthorizeMe staff know about pleasant, local accommodations. It is best for the staff to stay at a local that offers complimentary breakfast and in-room, complimentary wireless internet. It would also be nice if the hotel were near other accommodations like restaurants and shops in case we need anything. Also help the staff with local transportation as needed.
AuthorizeMe handles all the finances, does all the bookkeeping, and keeps you updated on how many registrations have been received. Those who want to attend would send their payments directly to AuthorizeMe via PayPal (using the website PayPal page) or by mail using a check or money order. All payments should be received by the AuthorizeMe office at least a week prior to the event. All registrants are encouraged to register using the website registration page whether they are going to pay online or not.
A minimum of 10 paid attendees constitutes a full seminar. For every additional ten people, I will bring an additional staff person. You'd be surprised how many people have thought about writing a book but they just don't know how to get started, so tell everyone you know about the seminar. Since AuthorizeMe helps people get their book out of their heads and down onto paper, it helps them move their dream closer to reality and gives them concrete direction and information about the Christian writing business.
As the sponsor of a full seminar, you attend free. Yes, that means with 10 paid attendees, you attend free. The pastor of the church where the seminar is held also may attend free. With 20 paid attendees, the pastor's wife may attend free. With 30 paid attendees, another person may attend free, and so on.
