Your idea will be ready to present to publishers. Once you have learned the AuthorizeMe method, you will be able to efficiently plan every successive book you write, bringing your ideas to the proposal stage quickly so you can readily get those ideas into the hands of the acquisitions editor. How to Sponsor an AuthorizeMe Seminar
The AuthorizeMe Seminar would love to travel to your city. If someone in the area would like to sponsor an AuthorizeMe seminar, I (Sharon, AuthorizeMe CEO) will bring the seminar to you. Here's all that a sponsor needs to do:
- Contact me to secure a date.
- Secure a location - This is generally a church or school multi-purpose room with lots of empty wall space and/or windows. The room would need to be available Friday evening, 4pm - 10pm, and all day Saturday, 8am - 7pm. If the seminar is held at a church and the sponsor is a member of the church, the room is usually supplied at not charge, especially if the seminar can be promoted as a church-related event. AuthorizeMe will discuss reasonably priced locations that need to be rented, if necessary.
- Be responsible for local promotion - The sponsor would pass out the flyers and make announcements to advertise the seminar. He/She can feel free to assemble a team of volunteers to help. I will supply the flyers.
- Arrange for lunch on Saturday. This does not mean you have to supply it. Just have eating establishments (fast food places) in mind that are close to the seminar site. There will be a one-hour lunch break on Saturday and attendees will need to leave the site to get their lunch.
- Let me know about pleasant accommodations for me and my staff. I have a staff that assists me depending upon the size of the seminar. We prefer staying at a local hotel that offers complimentary breakfast and in-room complimentary wireless internet. It would also be nice if the hotel were near other accommodations like restaurants and shops in case we need anything.
- Assist with my and my staff's transportation while we’re in town for the seminar. This includes transportation to and from the airport, and back and forth between the seminar and the hotel. This could mean supplying us with directions from the airport and we'll rent a car, or assigning someone to shuttle us around.
AuthorizeMe handles all the finances. Those who want to attend would send their payments directly to me. I will do all the bookkeeping and keep you updated on how many registrations have been received.
You would need a minimum of 10 paid attendees to host the seminar. For every ten people, I will bring an additional staff person. You'd be surprised how many people have thought about writing a book but they just don't know how to get started, so tell everyone you know about the seminar. Since AuthorizeMe helps people get their book out of their heads and down onto paper, it helps them move their dream closer to reality and gives them concrete direction and information about the Christian writing business.
Now here's the great news. As the sponsor of the event, you attend free. Yes, that means with 10 paid attendees, you attend free. The pastor of the church where the seminar is held also may attend free. With 20 paid attendees, the pastor's wife may attend free. With 30 paid attendees, another person may attend free, and so on.
